about

I wrote these two songs during the summer of 2014. During that time, I was generally very sad as I was coping with the death of my close friend Michael who had died suddenly in May of that year. I found writing these two songs to be a helpful way to harness the pain I felt. The first track "Ballad of the Touring Band" was written as sort of a final farewell to my friend Mike. The second track "Heroes of Folklore" was written later in the summer. I was still feeling a lot of the same heavy emotions while writing it. It isn't as explicitly related mourning the death of my friend, but rather it covers more vague themes such as greed, thirst for adventure, and regret. Because of the nature of these two songs I don't really feel comfortable putting a price on them. Thus, they're available as a free download. Obviously you still have the option to donate an amount of your choosing. If I end up making revenue off these songs, I'll probably donate the proceeds to a cause that my friend Michael would've approved of. He was always passionate about standing up for the rights marginalized groups and those who couldn't stand up for themselves. He was also passionate about always being able to make good music with close friends. So if I were to donate to an cause, it would probably be a cause that facilitates at least one those things. Enjoy!
